What is a DTF (Direct to Film print)
Most just think it’s an amazing way to heat press their newest designs on substrates … and they are right! But… let’s dig a little deeper into this new exciting way to design on a multitude of fabrics…
Direct to film: It sounds simple enough! First, we use textile ink printed to PET film. Unlike vinyl or eco solvent inks on vinyl it doesn’t fade or crackle, and there isn’t any weeding like vinyl either. With Rip software we are able to print white ink which is the foundation for the powder adhesive ; it then goes through a shaker to get the excess powder off. After the powder process it goes through a curing oven to heat the powder and bind the ink.
Unlike many other methods of printing/designing- DTF is capable of changing print sizes with little effort.
High quality, long lasting, light weight, brilliant colors with crisp lines… it’s hard to go wrong with this type of printing!
